Whispering's from the Workshop

A lot has happened since my last blog post!

It’s been a while since my last blog update, and a lot has happened! January is often a quiet month, but with a house move just before Christmas, DIY projects, and work at Pipinwood Furniture, there’s been little time for much else.

The main projects so far have been a new roof for the house and a new kitchen floor, but my to-do list just keeps growing! It seems the more I cross off, the more tasks appear—such is the life of a home renovator.

At Pipinwood Furniture, we’ve also been busy with some exciting projects. One of the highlights was a trip to Scotland to rescue a solid oak kitchen being ripped out of an old farmhouse. The units are very tired and well used but with some TLC the cupboards will be given a new lease of life and put to good use in a sewing room - far to good to be thrown away! A perfect example of how one mans rubbish is definitely another mans treasure.

If you’re interested in restoring old furniture, I’d be happy to share some tips—just let me know!

I am also currently in the middle of building a prototype dog chair, peculiar i hear you say! But there is a good reason for this. Some dogs have a medical condition that means they can not eat like normal dogs and they need to have their chest raised, for small dogs this is no issue as you can easily hold them in the correct position.

As the breeds get larger this is not possible. Max has tried the prototype out, so I know what tweaks need to be made. It reminds me of the old school desks!

Once the chair has been refined and the padding added I think Max will be dining in style.

Make sure to follow me on social media to stay updated on Max’s progress—and to catch more behind-the-scenes moments!
